First Meeting

In Meeting Info on September 16, 2010 at 9:15 am

Our first meeting is going to be Thursday, September 23, beginning at 7:00 PM and lasting until we all go home. We will be meeting in the Senior Common Room (in Cochran Bay) Haliburton Room, in the A&A.

This meeting will be the first of our Theme Meetings, which are just what they sound like – bring in any piece of literature which corresponds in some way to the theme. In a somewhat cliche move, the theme for Thursday’s meeting will be “Beginnings“.

Refreshments to be served. Arrive early and plan to stay somewhat late.

The Haliburton Society…

In Uncategorized on September 16, 2010 at 3:29 am

Is the oldest literary society in Canada, established in 1884. We will meet every other week to discuss all things literary which pertain to either a theme, or a group of languages (for example “Beginnings” or “Romance Languages”). We welcome all literature, be it poetry, novel, essay or drama, of your own authorship or that of someone else. Refreshments and great discussions are commonplace.

This blog will be to post announcements, news, and sundry other items of interest to those in the club.
